The Drug Prohibition Is Stupid THE CIA DEA is out of control. So now we have to fight for the abolition of prohibition of Kratom,*0 whatever it is, never even heard of it, i want to try some now that they have mentioned it, anyway, what's next, licencing to grow garlic and oregano?! The drug prohibition is stupid, as a matter of fact all prohibitions of the inanimate objects and nature is stupid. Objects/substances cannot be good or bad -- it is how they are used -- the intent and knowledge -- that defines the outcome. If guns are out to be banned then let's also ban the household cleaning products, kitchen knives, fists, etc -- they can be used to kill too... spoons, forks, and everything else that a crazy person might use to commit crime. how about we adjust the society to the expectations of the insane. and keep a long list of all the good/bad plants and objects in public view. hehe. For the same reason one does not give a fork and knife to a baby. accidents can happen regardless of the intent. some guy died from drowning in a tea spoon of water, meanwhile cars kill more than anything else. What about Salvia Divinorum, which kicks acid's ass, sold in smoke shops unregulated, or the ibogaine root bark of the Tabernanthe iboga, world's most powerful hallucinogenic substance also readily available? While "Ibogaine is classified as a schedule 1 controlled substance in the United States, and is not approved there for addiction treatment (or any other therapeutic use) because of its hallucinogenic and cardiovascular side effects, as well as the absence of safety and efficacy data in human subjects. In most other countries it remains unregulated and unlicensed. Independent ibogaine treatment clinics have emerged in Mexico, Canada, the Netherlands, South Africa, and New Zealand, all operating in what has been described as a "legal gray area". Covert, illegal neighborhood clinics are also known to exist in the United States, despite active DEA surveillance."*1 Obviously the substances are neutral as is and cannot be good or bad/evil, these are the attributes applied to the end user's knowledge, the application of it, cultural wisdom and context, the quality of the substance, the skill of how it is utilised, and the intent of its use to begin with. Objects and substances should be used mindfully with the good intent in mind. good/evil is the dichotomy of intent and good/bad is the dichotomy of the definition of quality, which can differ depending on the experience of the user. When someone overdoses on the salt, sugar, or oil, it means one is bad in managing these substances and not that these substances are bad in themselves and thus should be banned, regulated and controlled, that's fucked up backward thinking. What should be regulated and controlled is how one uses the substances, mindfully, and pass that acquired cultural wisdom to the next generation through education, IN PROPER HUMAN SOCIETY, not demonising the innocent, naturally neutral plants, while relieving the individual self from any personal responsibility of any required knowledge, skill, committed improper acts and behaviour -- it's all them damn evil substances fault, none of mine own! -- the famous last words. ____________________________________________________ *0 - http://thejointblog.com/dea-announces-kratom-schedule-1/ *1 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tabernanthe_iboga
