Enforcing the human rights is not new, same as with the ranked ballot issues, environment, and plethora of other collective agreements and ideas, if it makes more sense and more user friendly the people will chose the better option, the point is to honestly look at ourselves as adults and what realistic issues we can cooperate on to build a better society for all. In such effort, naturally, we face our own demons, as Buddha referred to the facing to improve oneself journey to enlightenment, thus different people are at different stage not only in ages but the enlightenment to the certain universal truths, hence the society is mirrored by the spiritual well being of its members, who in turn makeup the social laws, rules, morals, and ethics. So, to bring it home, we, as the so-called conscious homo sapiens, aka wise humans, are faced with a dilemma of how to organize our essential needs, never mind the wants, around the so-called evil greedy psychopaths who by force dominate the order of the day. Obviously, rhetoric aside, one can decide to join in the Babylon or else step aside to catch a breath and maybe try to set up a sort-of a temporary autonomous zone, as Hakim Bey calls it, T.A.Z., good read. Anyway, indeed it is an easier way to deal with most issues of the day, and maybe help to organize the basic human needs and rights.
