The Freedom of Speech.

The freedom of self expression does not mean the hate speech attacking another, or speech inciting a violence, which, according to at least the Canadian law, is seen as an act and not expression. One has to be aware of this important distinctions in order to freely be able to express themselves without infringing on the rights and well being of others.

The point i am making is that a violent response to a personal expression is criminal, as well, the expression calling for violence is also criminal. An eye for an eye. Having a thick skin against personal attacks is different from social norms and laws set to protect us from each other. This is not a high school anymore but the real world, and even children sometimes cross the line that they did not know was there, to their surprise surprise, there are apparently consequences to their effects on the freedoms and well being of others. One simply cannot go and kill people if they didn't like what they heard. However one cannot abuse the freedom of expression in such a way that it becomes threatening and damaging to another. Fair is fair.

the speech is free only if it is not at the expense of the other person. one can express oneself without the need to resort to the personal attacks, bulling, and hate mongering which can cause violence and murder, thus the civilized societies have laws to protect people against such an abuse of the freedom of personal expression, called libel, defamation, hate speech, inciting violence, accessory to crime, etc. 

There is no free speech without the strings attached when it involves more than one person. Sure, you are free to express yourself in the shower or anywhere you are alone all you want, however it becomes not so cut and dry when it involves talking about others, audience, pointing fingers, calling for violence, then it is not a matter of simple self expression but a matter of proper social conduct, communications, and public relations.
