Knowledge vs Believe knowledge is based on the personal experience, the fact, that when understood, is learned, in its cause and effect dynamics, the Golden Rule, becomes science, Latin scientia means knowledge, open knowledge with the scientific method that can be intelligently applied, for example when cooking, the cooking recipes can come handy. Magic, on the other hand, comes from Persian word magi meaning knowledge too, however, traditionally, this type of knowledge in not exoteric type but, as in any dichotomy, esoteric, which is inner reflective, hidden, secret knowledge, for example the magician's magic tricks are kept hidden from the audience, or, on spiritual levels, emotions, miracles, dreams, thoughts, and fantasies are in large part of esoteric nature, granted we are of both macro and micro scales, conscious of most important, central to our own being, information, while our subconscious self fills in the rest of the big picture. Hence come the believes. I have had not a coffee yet since i woke up this morning. Well, i know where the truth is, the facts in this case, since i am the source of the information about it, hence i know if i had a coffee or not, however others do not know this, and, therefor, have to rely on; if they trust me or not, which comes from previous experience(s), the sense of credibility, how relevant, then if there is not enough information to make an intelligent guess, the intuition comes to play a more prominent role of employing the heightened extra sensual perception, and if even that is not enough then the feelings kick in full gear. The believes are based on the third party reports. You may believe me or not if i yet had a coffee today, but the fact remains that you don't know. Hence the difference. The organized believes are called faiths, hence there could be a possible schism, if several friends form one group where they believe that i had a coffee, while another group believes something that i had not. It is called religion, with the legions of devoted followers who believe in the set doctrine of the group. as an old proverb says, "to be one who is, is not to be someone else."
