consciousness is being aware, including of one's own body, which represents in here and now the immediate needs, and striving to maintain the symbiotic balance with the environment that it is part of, micro and macro, while the mind can wonder off into the past and the future, the primary goal of the consciousness is to aid the physical "God of Hosts" body with what needs to be done now, i.e.: breathing, nourishment, various critical activities, sleeping, etc. before the "Lord" mind is free to do what it wants. hence the priorities. The Lord who refuses to bow before the Adam, metaphorically speaking, meaning the mind which refuses to help its body with what it needs is known as the fallen angel of God. Pride being the first step in the downwards spiral to self destruction. the subconsciousness, in dichotomy with consciousness, processes the rest of the information that the consciousness is oblivious about, and presents to the attention of the conscious mind what it needs to be aware about, metaphorically represented by the St. Peter's gates of perception, aka the pineal gland, whose name was Simon prior to St. Peter, which in Hebrew means to hear/listen. From six to seven billion bits of information in every moment that is registering with the subconsciousness, it gets narrowed down to two to three thousand pieces of data presented to the Christ consciousness, aka the awareness, pass the St. Peter's gates, the pineal gland. Lord Buddha is a title referring, like the Christ, to the enlightened mind, which is virtues by definition and keeps the priorities rights and balance steady. In silent body the abode of soul in search of peace, but restless mind needs to know and spirit loves to live. http://www.collective-evolution.com/2014/05/01/scientific-study-shows-meditators-collapsing-quantum-systems-at-a-distance/
